Character

Once Swami Vivekanand visited abroad. Clothing style of Vivekanand was different, simple. Once a woman watching Vivekanand asked him since she was not able to control her thoughts. She asked, “Can’t you wear proper clothes to look like a gentleman? Don’t you have good tailors in your country?” Vivekanand was surprised and asked why a pair of clothes matter? The young lady said that it matters for personality. Vivekanand listened patiently and politely with a kind gesture replied to the young lady that, “In your country tailor makes a man but in my country character makes a man”. The attitude Vivekanand had was incredible. Man is known by his character, not by his clothes. A wonderful answer that left as a mark on every person’s mind. All that matters and makes a person is a character, not clothes. You will be known to the world by your deeds, not by your clothes.

Have you seen a person running behind wealth? The time he takes to run behind the wealth is not worth. Because it’s not an investment he’s doing. The time when wealth will be lost, for him everything will be lost but in reality, nothing is lost. The time the person takes to invest in health is better than on wealth. And when health is lost there’s something which we lose. When a person is being raped how you thought how does he feel. It’s the worst feeling ever. Similarly, when a person loses his character he is losing everything. The time to invest in building a character is best.

Remember, when wealth is lost nothing is lost, when health is lost there something being lost and when the character is lost everything is lost.

Once a man from a village with a great character and ethics with a will to become successful enter the city of dreams. He tried his best to become successful and earn a lot he even worked harder. He didn’t sleep in the nights and didn’t differentiate between nights and days. But one thing he lost in this wonderful journey was to gain more he put aside his character. He lost character and undisciplined pursuit for more he even lost himself.

Education is a part which builds a character. Information is transformed into knowledge. Knowledge is transformed into wisdom and wisdom makes a character. Even if a person is educated and doesn’t have a good character then he won’t be valued.

What’s takes to builds a character?

  1. Speak softly to every person whom you are interacting with. Suppose you are furious and temper goes high than instead of shouting convey the message in such a way that a person gets what you want to convey and even doesn’t get hurt.
  2. Live a life with ethics and principles.
  3. Posses high levels of self-control.
  4. Live life with disciplined pursuit with fewer wants but better instead of more.
  5. Develop a positive attitude.
  6. Don’t ever feel small to apologise to a person even smaller than you.
  7. Don’t develop an ego for conveying gratitude.

If character is well build up then

  1. People come to you.
  2. Situation will turn according to your requirements.
  3. Resources will come in search of you.

That’s the power character holds.

Remember, “If a character can make you in your and others eyes then it can also make you fall in others and your eyes.”
